GAC and KDF Filter Remove Carbon and Prevent Bacteria, Fungus and Mold Growth

Our filter uses a KDF Fluid Treatment to remove chemicals that give unpleasant odors and tastes to water. KDF also prevents the growth of fungus, bacteria and mold when the filter is not in use. When first attaching the filter to your water source, allow the water to run free for a few minutes to flush the initial loose carbon out of the filter. When the water runs clear, the filter is ready for use!

Wide Body Inline Design Increases Flow Rate

Camco’s TastePURE water filter attaches to your water hose, for easy, quick access to cleaner, great-tasting drinking water. Our water filter stays aligned with your water hose during use and has a wide body for higher capacity and flow rate!

Used this to fill my spa with filtered water so the built-in filters didn’t have to work so hard with new water. Let it run for a minute or two through the filter to clear out the chemicals from manufacture.

Nice water filter. I have used this several times now and each time I get a very consistent taste in the water. On each time I have tasted the water before running it through this filter directly from my fresh water hose and each time after the filter was in place the taste of the water was very close to each other. I do not taste any chemical or mineral taste in the water. When I am done with it I make sure to drain as much of the water back out of it before putting it up for storage. As with any filter I always run water through it for a very minutes before using the water on initial hook up.Pros:1. Very good filter quality2. Easy to Use3. Well MadeWish:Nothing wrong with it as far as functionally goes, but I do wish that it had a case to store it in to keep it clean and protected, but I knew that it did not when purchasing it so I do not see this as a con.

I wanted to give this 4 stars as I was hoping to be able to pull out ALL of the HARD WATER for washing my car with. Those types of units are much more expensive, this did help quite a bit, but was not spot free. I know it’s not advertised for this use so I gave it all 5, as it does seem to do what it’s intended for. Was just hoping I could get a spot free wash from it. Solid design well packaged.

Leave a comment if you have any questions and I can either take some photos or give more details.I used this for one camping season in my RV and can report no issues. I suggest keeping a few extra Hose O rings packed just in case you loose one. I lost one on the first trip of the season and ended up needing to use a spare to be able to fully hook up at the site.Do follow the instructions and allow water to run through it for a couple minutes to get all the carbon dust out. The water will initially run very black until it’s cleared the dust out.For storage I use a 15 quart hefty latching lid tote. It allows me to store this and my 25′ clean water hose separate and protected from anything during storage and transit. I keep my Y adapter and PSI regultor in this same tote. When I get home I open the tote, prop up the filter in the tote to help with draining and then just pour the water into the yard when it’s done draining. My camp setup is;RV > right angle adapter > water hose > filter > PSI regulator adapter > hose Y adapter > and then site spigot. My photo isn’t the best shot of the setup I could have gotten but I also chose it because of the family of deer in the background.I have not used the spring adapter but have it packed in my “Travel RV tool kit” in case I need it.My only concern would be durability if dropped. I think the chance of it cracking would be more during removal then attaching as it would be heavier with water still inside it.I do plan on buying this product again when I need another.

I just installed this on a spigot in my horse barn and I’m impressed already! The house water is taken care of with a water system, but the barn water always had iron in it. The iron got worse since the pressure tank was replaced in the house to the point where water was cloudy brown with sediment floating in i! Had a water company come out and test the water, said the barn water is fine for the horses but if we wanted to get all the iron out of it we’d have to replace/upgrade the system in the house to the tune of $2600. Also said this sometimes happens when a pressure tank is replace, it may or many not settle in a few months. So I went and put one of these little filters on the spigot, figure for $15 it was worth the shot. Granted it probably isn’t taking all the iron out, but at least the water is clear now and no chunks of sediment floating around! I made my husband taste the water after I put the filter on (LOL), he said it still has a metallic taste to it…. but oh well, makes me feel better that my horses are at least drinking clear water with not so much iron in it now. Attached is before and after photo of the water.

First off, don’t be fooled by the most common use, you ARE allowed to use these if you are tent camping in the campground as well!We are spoiled to a nice whole house filtration system, and find it odd that the water supplies at campgrounds tend to be of typically poor quality, high in iron content, and heaven knows what else…. We picked one of these up along with a pressure regulator, and a potable water hose. I mean why should the RVers be the only ones in the campground with safe water? The stress relief hose is nice to keep tension off the plastic body of the filter. Construction is as good as any other mass produced inline filter, except this one has hose thread ends instead of standard pipe thread. In testing at my local park (prepping for a camping trip), we have found the brownish iron laden water has been turned clear no problems. If I had a test kit to verify exactly how clean the water gets, and how lousy it started out I would give you data, but I don’t have that available… The specs are pretty good though, and I can believe the water is drinkable at this point…One suggestion for transport though. Keep this separate from anything dirty, you do not want to contaminate your filter, hose etc… I got one of those nylon laundry bags, which I line with a sanitary white kitchen trash bag, the filter, regulator, stress relief hose and drinking hose go in the trash sack, and that all goes into the nylon laundry bag before it gets packed away for transport. This is ESPECIALLY important for RVs where the water supply, and sewage hose are stored in the same compartment!

fit the garden hose perfectly. I am using it to filter chlorine and chemicals from water for my green house and vegetable garden. Water flow is not reduced at all.
